Owned by Francesca Kelly, 2006 stallion Nazruddin is one of fewer than 15 Marwari horses living in the United States. First bred in western India in the 12th century, the Marwari has been used as a cavalry horse by the Marwar people for centuries and is notable for its loyalty and bravery in battle. In addition to their long military history, these horses are bold and swift under saddle and are excellent endurance or dressage contenders. Marwari horses have large and expressive eyes and scimitar-curved ears that are unique to their breed.
